Deep dive into Tropico 6's new features

New developer featurette offers in-depth look at your new island paradise

This Friday, El Presidente makes his triumphant return, as Tropico 6, the latest instalment in the critically acclaimed Tropico franchise, launches globally on Windows PC and Linux (Mac version to follow soon). In anticipation of the launch, El Presidente’s faithful aide Penultimo has been busy creating a new video featurette where developer Limbic Entertainment talk about how it worked to improve on the series and in particular build upon the success of Tropico 5 while keeping true to Tropico’s core values.

So, sit back, relax and let developer Limbic Entertainment take you on a journey of Tropico 6’s development and the great new features awaiting you on Friday’s official launch.

There’s still time for budding dictators to pre order their copy of Tropico 6 either digitally or as a boxed retail edition. The special ‘El Prez Edition’ of Tropico 6 comes with a wealth of bonus goodies to spice up your Tropican vacation, while there are also two mouthwatering digital pre-order options. The Standard Edition is available with a 10% discount and direct access to the beta, while the special El Prez Edition also comes with a 10% discount and immediate beta access, but also adds some special in-game content (a tourist outfit for El Prez and a Flamingo Pond for the presidential palace), the digital soundtrack and a fabulous digital calendar.

Included in the retail boxed version are four postcards of Tropico’s stunning beaches and totally-not-stolen landmarks, two tourist outfits for your Presidente, an exclusive flamingo pond palace design, a digital soundtrack of foot-tapping Tropican beats and a digital calendar to mark off the days until election day. Just what any budding Dictator needs on their journey to greatness.

Tropico 6 is scheduled for a worldwide release on Windows PC and Linux on 29th March 2019 (Mac version to follow soon), with console versions set to follow in summer 2019 on PlayStation®4 and Xbox One.

Nothing about the difficulty level adjustments or multiplayer options, which at least for me are probably the most interesting additions.

Also some of the charachter models and for example building windows could still use some more details in them. As some of them look like they could be just directly copied from Tropico 3.
