Greetings uprising mayors!
This thread is all about possible and common problems and how to probably solve them.
So please take your time and read the thread carefully.

Before reporting, please ensure that your system is able to run the game (at least meeting the minimum requirements of the game), all drivers are up-to-date and that the game is updated to the latest version!

System Requirements for Urban Empire:
MINIMUM:
OS: Windows 7 SP1 / 8.1 / 10, 64bit
Processor: Intel i5-2400 / AMD FX-6350
Memory: 6 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 / AMD HD 6850 2GB
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 4 GB available space
RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows 7 SP1 / 8.1 / 10, 64bit
Processor: Intel Core i5 4690K / AMD FX8320 or newer
Memory: 12 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / ATI/AMD Radeon R9 290 3GB or newer

Windows 10
- We recommend running the game as an admin user.
To do so, right-click on the game .exe and/or shortcut and select “run as administrator”.
- If this is still not working, we recommend to start the game in Windows 7 compatibility mode.
To set the compatibility mode, do the following:
  • Right-click game .exe and select properties (by default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Urban Empire\Urban Empire.exe)
  • Click the Compatibility tab and then tick the box labelled "Run this program in compatibility mode
  • Now you can select a Compatibility Mode and select e.g. “Windows 7”
  • Tick the box below "Run this program as administrator" (to always run the game as administrator)
  • Click on "OK" to apply the changes and start the game with double click on the game’s .exe.

Integrated Intel HD Graphics and a dedicated graphic cards
When using a laptop with an integrated graphic chip, it might be the case that by default this chip will be used, instead of the dedicated graphic cards, which may impact the performance of a game. You can easily change this by doing the following:
- Update the graphic card driver from the link below.
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=en-us
- Then change the settings as described below:
1. Open your Nvidia Control Panel (right-click on desktop, select Nvidia Control Panel)
2. Select "Manage 3D settings"
3. Select "Global Settings". You will find the option "Preferred graphics processor". Please select "High-performance NVIDIA processor" and save the settings.
4. You will have to reboot your system for the changes to take effect.

Troubleshooting via Steam
  • Select Urban Empire' from your Steam library
  • Right-click on your game
  • Select 'Properties'
  • Select 'Check Integrity of Game Cache' from the 'Local Files' tab (This might take several minutes)
  • If the integrity check did not fix the problem, delete the game's folder in your Steamapps folder

Known issues in Urban Empire version 1.1.1
    UPDATED:
  • The camera is constantly rotating and will not stop
    - When this happens simply unplug all controllers and controllers' dongles attached to your machine.
So make sure no (wireless) controllers are attached, such as e.g. the Steam Controller. Also unplug all dongles of your wireless controllers.
(We know about this problem and are working on it!)
  • The Game screen appears darker - (when using non-native fullscreen
    resolution.
    - Use the native resolution in fullscreen or windowed mode (to do so simply use the "Alt"-"Enter")
  • I cannot save the game.
Please be aware that, when the tutorial is enabled, during tutorial tasks you cannot save the game. So check if there are tutorial tasks and complete them in order to save the game properly.
  • ”Foreign/Special characters are not allowed in city/district name”
    - Please use only the Latin Alphabet -set to name the city and districts.
  • Generation of random names for the districts can pick up an already existing
    Name
    - Renaming districts doesn’t cost the player anything. So just renaming those
    Will help already.

What does the Support Team need to address my problem, and what can I provide to speed up the process?
  • Please include the complete title of the game that you are having problems with.
  • Also include a (small) description of your problem. Probably with steps on how to reproduce the issue.
  • Please provide your full system information.

Please attach a DxDiag.txt to the email if possible. To create the DxDiag.txt, please do the following:
  • Click "Start" button and choose "Run". Or alternatively, press (Windows-Button)+R
  • Then type "dxdiag" (without quotation marks) and click “OK”
  • Click the "Save all Information"-button, located at the bottom of the program window
  • Save the file as "dxdiag.txt”
  • Attach the file "dxdiag.txt" to your email
  • When you are experiencing crashes when starting the game, or during gameplay, please also provide the support with a crash dump, which can be found in following location and needs to be attached to the email in addition to the “dxdiag.txt”:
    “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Urban
    Empire\<YYYY-MM-DD_HHMMSS>”

If it comes to savegame problems, crashes and such, please also add a savegame, that our devs can easily have a look into that.
Here you can find your savegames for Urban Empire (even when Cloudsaving is enabled!):
C:\Users\YourUserAccountName\AppData\LocalLow\REBORN\Urban Empire\Save
And attach the respective savegames in your mail to our support.
